Infineon to Invest Approx. US$362 Mln in Singapore

Infineon plans to invest approximately 250 million euro (US$362.3 million; US$1=0.69 euro) in Singapore over the next few years, according to a June 2, 2011 report by EE Times. It is reported that in 2011, Infineon will spend 50 million euro (US$72.5 million) on a design center in Singapore. The design center currently has 250 staff, and Infineon is projected to add 130 more staff to the center. Currently Infineon has around 2,000 employees in Singapore, and the company plans to make Singapore a hub for chip testing in Asia, according to the same source.
